Cedar High: Christmas Band Concert, Wonderful Christmas Time, featuring all 141 Cedar High Redmen Band students at 7:30 pm in the Cedar High Auditorium (703 W 600 S, Cedar City). As always, the concert is free. For information call Cedar High School – Steve Shirt 435-586-2820.
The concert will open with Star Spangled Banner, performed by the combined Symphonic, Concert, and JV Bands and Percussion Ensemble, with Color Guard provided by the “Triple Deuce” of the Utah National Guard. The Combined Bands will also perform Back In Black, (our parade music), Holiday Emblem, Blue Christmas (made famous by Elvis), Paul McCartney’s Wonderful Christmastime, and Electricity – Race Around The Circuit.
The JV Band will take the stage next opening with the march El Alamein, followed by Stille, Stille, Stille, finishing with Court Of The Patriarchs, a musical depiction of the rock formation in Zion National Park.
Concert Band will follow with Eric Osterling’s famous concert march Thundercrest, followed by From The Cedars To The Mountains (commissioned by Cedar High in 1997), and finishing with Secret Agent Santa.
Symphonic Band will close the program with five selections. First will be American Fanfare followed by Sousa’s George Washington Bicentennial March. Next will be Brent Heisinger’s amazing Hymn For Band and the very fun Cowboy Christmas. Symphonic Band will close the concert with Hollywood Milestones, a collection of very famous movie themes.
