Native Heritage Experience held 9:00 am at the Frontier Homestead State Park (635 N Main St, Cedar City), cost is $186. Celebrate the area’s Native American history with this two-day experience. Enjoy a special presentation by Eleanor Tom, Paiute Elder, in Special Collections at the SUU Library. Join Samantha Kirkley, state coordinator for Utah Project Archaeology, in an exclusive tour of the SUU Archaeology Repository and Native Heritage Exhibit at Frontier Homestead State Park. Visit Parowan Gap to see petroglyphs up close and learn about the location’s significance. After the experience, further immerse yourself in local tribe culture by attending the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah’s Restoration Festival & Contest Pow Wow.
Transportation and a boxed lunch will be provided on day two. Youth over the age of 10 may register with an adult, but only those 18 and older may ride in the SUU vans.
