Southern Utah Museum of Art George S Dibble Exhibit Gallery Talk in Cedar City, UTSUMA – Exhibit Gallery Talk: George S. Dibble held 1:00 pm in the Southern Utah Museum of Art – SUMA (13 S 300 W, Cedar City), admission is FREE and open to everyone. Jonathan Dibble, George Dibble’s son, will lead a walking tour of the exhibit. He will discuss how Cedar City was a pivotal point in his father’s long-term career as a painter. This program is free and open to the public. George Dibble was a painter, teacher, and art critic who, throughout his career, greatly influenced numerous artists and students. He was an associate professor at the University of Utah and a visiting professor for summer sessions at College of Southern Utah (currently Southern Utah University). Dibble was a member of the first Modern Artists of Utah and participated in an exhibition and helped write a formal statement to the public, both intended to increase the understanding and acceptance of modern art in Utah.
