MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23rd

Cedar City Library Story Time held 10:00 am and again at 10:30 am at the Cedar City Library (303 N 100 E, Cedar

SUU Homecoming Events: Dive-In Movie – Families held 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Southern Utah University Pool (2-56

Chili Cook Off held 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Brick House Cafe (86 S Main St, Cedar City). Join us in the Brick House
Cafe parking lot to enjoy a night full of games, yummy food, community camaraderie, and a friendly chili cook off.
Tickets to the event are: advanced adult tickets (at Brick House) $4, at the door $5, and children (11 yrs and under) $3.

SUMA – Create Playdate: Young Frank, Architect by Frank Viva held 11:00 am at Southern Utah Museum of Art – SUMA
(13 S 300 W, Cedar City), FREE and open to all preschool children (3 yrs to 5 yrs) and their parents. Today’s 45-minute
creative playdate will begin with a story about Young Frank who wants to be an architect and lives with his grandfather,
Old Frank. Young Frank builds out of anything he can get his hands on, like pillows and toilet paper. Find out what

Wonder Wednesdays held 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Frehner Museum of Natural History (162 S 300 W, Cedar City). This
program is held in conjunction with early out Wednesdays for elementary schools in the Iron County School District.
Children accompanied by an adult can drop by anytime between 2-4 pm for make-n-take activities or self-guided
programming. These programs are free for Iron County elementary students.

Final Friday Art Walk are FREE and open to everyone and are held the last Friday of the month, June – September,
from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at various locations along Main Street and University Blvd (about 25 N Main St to University
Blvd then west to 300 W University Blvd). Visit with artists, see beautiful art pieces made using a variety of mediums
and maybe purchase a new piece to add to your collection. For maps of the route check the Cedar City Visitor Center
and locations along the route (i.e. Main Street Books, The Grind, Artisans Gallery, Art Works, Stone Path, SUMA, etc).

SUMA: Special Exhibit – A Very Big Tiny Art Show Opening Reception held 5:00 pm at Southern Utah Museum of Art –
SUMA (13 S 300 W, Cedar City), admission is FREE. SUMA is thrilled to collaborate with Tiny Art Show to create their
“biggest” show ever, featuring tiny solo exhibitions by 26 Utah artists! Tiny art show is a community art project that
installs miniature art exhibitions in unexpected spaces. Tiny treats will be provided at the opening reception. For

Southern Utah University – Alumni Band Concert held 6:30 pm in the Heritage Center Theater (105 N 100 E, Cedar

2019 Campfire Concerts in the Canyon live music begins at 7:00 pm in the Cedar Canyon Nature Park (1310 E Hwy 14,
Cedar City) 1.5 miles east of Main and Center Street. Bring your own chairs or blankets and dress for cool summer
evenings. Begin the evening with a welcome and announcements by the Southwest Wildlife Foundation followed by live
music featuring Kaitlin Sevy, Contemporary Folk Artist. Campfire with FREE s’mores! Other goodies may be available

Historic Downtown Walking Tour is a new feature for the Art Walk and begins at 7:30 pm, meet at the corner of Center

National Public Lands Day, a Fee-Free entry to the National Parks. To encourage Americans to explore
America’s natural beauty, rich history, and culture; admission fees will be waived. Look for local volunteer
service opportunity at public lands and Cedar Breaks National Monument.
Sweet Pea Farm & Orchard: Farm Breakfast held 8:00 am – 12:00 pm at Sweet Pea Farm & Orchard (136 S 600

The Erik Gray Challenge at Southview Trails beginning 9:00 am at S Shurtz Canyon Dr (Cedar City). A tribute to Erik
Gray, a member of the Cedar City Community who passed away from cancer in February of 2017. Join the annual 10k,
