September 9th through September 15th  – This coming week is full of exciting events sure to keep any adventurer busy! From the first annual Rock, Gem, & Mineral Show to the Cedar City Kids Fishing Derby; Farm Breakfasts with Sweet Pea Farm & Orchard and a Furry Friend Fun Run; there is always something happening and no boredom in sight!

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th

Family Swim Night at the Aquatic Center – held 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Cedar City Aquatic Center (2090 W Royal Hunte Dr, Cedar City). Two adults and four kids for only $10, additional family members at regular price. For information call 435-865-9223.

58th Annual Utah Shakespeare Festival held at the Beverley Center for the Arts (300 W University Blvd, Cedar City); featuring 7:15 pm Play Orientation and the 8:00 pm performance ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’. Frontier Homestead: Children’s Story Time held 10:00 am at the Frontier Homestead State Park Museum (635 N Main St, Cedar City), admission is FREE. This is an opportunity for preschool children to learn about the past through stories and history-related activities. 23rd annual Fall Recital Series: Rockin’ with the Classics held 7:30 pm at 21eleven (2111 N Main St, Cedar City), admission is $8 adults & $5 students. Directed by Carylee Zwang & Lindsay Szczesny. Wonder Wednesdays held 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Cedar City Library (303 N 100 E, Cedar City). This program is held in conjunction with early out Wednesdays for elementary schools in the Iron County School District. Children accompanied by an adult can drop by anytime between 2-4 pm for make-n-take activities or self-guided programming. These programs are free for Iron County elementary students.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14th

Cedar City Furry Friend Fun Run registration at 7:00 am and the run begins at 8:00 pm at Bicentennial Park (660 W 1045 N, Cedar City), registration is $15 for one person and $25 for a family of 2 +. The run will commence at Bicentennial Park and go to Canyon Park and back for a distance of a 5K. Participants can register and pay by visiting www.CedarCityAnimalShelter.org and go to the Donor Tab. Payment will be verified the morning of the run at registration. Participants can also pay the morning of the run.

Sweet Pea Farm & Orchard: Farm Breakfast held 8:00 am – 12:00 pm at Sweet Pea Farm & Orchard (136 S 600 W, Parowan), pricing per item ranges $2.50 – $7.50. Breakfast with the baby animals for the kids to pet! There will be all of the farm favorites and some new items on the menu.
