Pets and the National Parks: What to Know

Our nearby national parks have some options available for pet-friendly exploration within the parks. While visiting please be sure to follow B.A.R.K principles and respect the restrictions set by the National Park Service regarding pet-friendly trails and areas.

Zion National Park: The only trail that allows pets is the Pa’rus Trail, which begins at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center.

Bryce Canyon National Park: Pets are only allowed on paved surfaces, including park roads and campgrounds, the Shared-use Path, paved viewpoints, and the ½ mile (0.8 km) section of Rim Trail between Sunset and Sunrise Points.

Cedar Breaks National Monument: Pets are welcome on paved areas of Cedar Breaks including parking lots and paved overlooks, as well as the Sunset Trail.

Kolob Canyons, North Zion National Park: While they are welcome to ride in the vehicle with you for the scenic drive, pets are NOT permitted on any trails in Kolob Canyons.
